During Shaking
Protect your head and stay away from falling furniture, glass, and dangerous objects. If you are outside, avoid walls, signs, and broken glass.
After Shaking Stops
Check fire, gas, injuries, and exit routes. Follow official information from city office, weather agency, TV, radio, or disaster apps.
Tsunami Risk
If you are near the sea and there is a strong earthquake, check tsunami information and move to higher ground if instructed.
At an Evacuation Shelter
Foreign residents can use evacuation shelters. Bring medicine, phone charger, documents, water, and simple food if possible.
